In 2007, I began my original website, Sonshine's Haven. In 2007, it was turned into a blog and used to keep family updated on my first husband's fight with liver cancer. He passed away November of 2009. We were married for 34+ wonderful years and this journals some of that grief process I've gone through.
I have since remarried another widower, but Mike is missed dearly, and will always be a big part of my life.
At times, all of us will be called to act as witnesses to the suffering of another. We will be unable to affect the outcome physically. Words will fail us. Prayer will seem futile. And yet, the act of bearing witness to someone else's trials is a sacred sorrow that offers and astounding glimpse of eternal joy." by Ginger Garrett
"Being willing to stay with a loved one throughout their travail, can be difficult....YES! But offering yourselves as faithful companions on a dark and dreadful journey can be an unmeasured blessing." (paraphrased by me)

As for me...There are still no results from the MRI. I'm expecting a letter any day to assure me everything is fine.
I did end up having a new cast put on my leg today. I felt it was very loose and that turned out to be correct. The break is in a bad location and is possibly an old break (maybe when I fell down the stairs after serving Mike breakfast in bed one day a few years ago) that has recently been re-broken...while moving. They are using this cast to try and fuse the bones together, but it's not looking very promising. There was some more discussion about possibly needing surgery to correct this. ugh!
Glenn and I are continuing to work on our projects around the house. We are trying to complete the deck now leading out from the house to the pool. Glenn is also repairing a job the pool installers did to backwash the pool. He has dug up quite a lot of dirt to get down to the pipe they installed, so he can redo things to his liking. We also purchased some decking boards to complete the project. We decided to make the decking smaller...largely because we're a little worn out at this point and because we feel we have enough entertaining space.
Glenn is also trying to wire the pool house with electricity. Right now it is quite the sauna to walk in there. We purchased a small air conditioner for the space, but it just isn't cooling things done enough. So we plan to eventually insulate that building and wire it correctly for the air conditioner.
Always on the go......
Beverly
