In 2007, I began my original website, Sonshine's Haven. In 2007, it was turned into a blog and used to keep family updated on my first husband's fight with liver cancer. He passed away November of 2009. We were married for 34+ wonderful years and this journals some of that grief process I've gone through.

I have since remarried another widower, but Mike is missed dearly, and will always be a big part of my life.

At times, all of us will be called to act as witnesses to the suffering of another. We will be unable to affect the outcome physically. Words will fail us. Prayer will seem futile. And yet, the act of bearing witness to someone else's trials is a sacred sorrow that offers and astounding glimpse of eternal joy." by Ginger Garrett

"Being willing to stay with a loved one throughout their travail, can be difficult....YES! But offering yourselves as faithful companions on a dark and dreadful journey can be an unmeasured blessing." (paraphrased by me)

I closed on the home Mike and I shared together Thursday. It was difficult understandably, but the worse part of it was being sick all week and getting myself to the title company.  I had come down with a virus and just felt worse as the week went on.

It didn't help that that the couple moving in was there at the same time.  I had asked for a separate time slot, but the new couples excitement must have over ridden that request.   Maybe it helped to be "out of it" as much as I possibly could be.

Friday I was admitted to the hospital for fluids and observation. Every test has returned normal.  Two cultures were taken last Wednesday and that may shed some light.  It is a possibility I have picked up the virus from my Cocker's, since they have had similar symptoms. The Vet thought their Cushing's Disease may have been the reason behind their problems..but I doubt that applies to me.  Still in bed for now.  I may have results by the end of next week.

After I recover, the Vet would like for me to take Chloe and Hailey to Little Rock to see a specialist.  Please pray I can get back on my feet!
