In 2007, I began my original website, Sonshine's Haven. In 2007, it was turned into a blog and used to keep family updated on my first husband's fight with liver cancer. He passed away November of 2009. We were married for 34+ wonderful years and this journals some of that grief process I've gone through.

I have since remarried another widower, but Mike is missed dearly, and will always be a big part of my life.

At times, all of us will be called to act as witnesses to the suffering of another. We will be unable to affect the outcome physically. Words will fail us. Prayer will seem futile. And yet, the act of bearing witness to someone else's trials is a sacred sorrow that offers and astounding glimpse of eternal joy." by Ginger Garrett

"Being willing to stay with a loved one throughout their travail, can be difficult....YES! But offering yourselves as faithful companions on a dark and dreadful journey can be an unmeasured blessing." (paraphrased by me)

Mike is doing well. He is spending more time in his shop and less time napping. He built another wagon this week. This one is for Ethan to use at his house. Mike is having so much fun doing these. My heart smiles when I see him feeling good and happy.

Mike is still on the Levaquin to help with the minor infection he developed last week. He's still fussing with the length of his tubes, and is considering calling LR to see if there is anyway they can be shortened without replacing them. If not, then we're only two weeks away from being in Houston. The Lyrica he has been taking for a few weeks is really helping with the Neuropathy pain and numbness he's had in his feet and hands. Mike has worked himself up to two of the pills a day...with the prescribed dosage being three pills a day.

Thank you for continuing to care about us.

"May the Lord bring you into an ever deeper understanding of God and of the patience that comes from Christ." 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (LB)
